About Your Daily Diabetic

Diabetes Has Always Been Part of My Story

My connection to diabetes started long before my own diagnosis.

My grandmother was one of the first people in the United States to ever wear an insulin pump, becoming the second person in the country to use that technology when it was still very new.

After she was diagnosed, my grandfather even helped support a startup diabetes company because he believed strongly in advancing innovation and care for people living with diabetes.

Later, when I was diagnosed with diabetes myself, my family remained closely connected to the diabetes community. My mom even went on to work for a diabetes company, dedicating her career to helping others manage the condition.

Because of this, diabetes has always been part of my life and my family’s story.

The Reality of Living With Diabetes

Living with diabetes has brought real challenges into my life.

Over the years, I went through 21 eye surgeries due to complications from diabetes, and eventually I lost my vision.

That experience could have easily led me down a path of anger, frustration, or giving up.

Instead, it became a turning point in my life.

I realized that while diabetes can create hardship, it can also push us to become stronger, more disciplined, and more intentional about our health and the way we live our lives.

A Community That Supports One Another

One of the most powerful things about the diabetes journey is the community.

People living with diabetes understand each other in a way that many others cannot.

Your Daily Diabetic exists to strengthen that community and remind people that they are not alone in their journey.

Together we can encourage one another, share experiences, and build healthier lives.

Because the diabetes community is more than individuals.

It is a family.
